10) Curtis Granderson Reuniting With Kevin Long
Curtis Granderson did not live up to the expectations in his first season with the Mets after signing a lucrative four-year deal. The lefty slugger was inconsistent for much of the season, finishing with a .227 average with 20 homers and 66 RBI’s. This offseason, the Mets made a move that gives Granderson a chance to return to his old form.
The team hired former Yankees hitting coach Kevin Long. Granderson’s best season as a player came with Long as his hitting coach, when he had 41 homers and 119 RBI’s back in 2011. The Long hiring combined with the strong finish Granderson had a season ago will surely lead to a much improved total year.
